Senior Interaction Designer Virtually Visits Graphic Design Class

Jesse Alvarez's Advanced Website Design class recently welcomed a virtual visit from Senior Interaction Designer Paola Meraz. Based in Southern California, Meraz spoke to FIDM Graphic Design students about life after college and the transition from student to real world professional via an online Zoom meeting.

Meraz began studying Graphic Design at San Diego City College before transferring to Art Center College of Design where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design with an emphasis in Transmedia Design. While in school, she interned at Whitewall Magazine and the design studio Volume Inc.

After graduating from college in 2015, she was hired by Designworks, A BMW Group Company, as an Interaction Designer. She shared insights from the industry and inspired the Graphic Design students in the process. “A silver lining of the remote class situation is being able to bring in guest speakers that might not otherwise be able to visit us on campus,” Lisa Hoffman, Director of Graphic Design, said of Meraz’s visit.
